I was skeptical when I placed an order for this solar floodlight to light up my small backyard for summer nights. I have never owned anything that runs on solar energy before. There were cheaper options available in the $50-$100 range but I am so glad I got this instead.
This light is an investment but the very first night we had it installed, we could tell we picked the right light for our small backyard. It lights up a 15x20 feet area pretty nicely and the remote works great as a dimmer and timer based lighting.
We had this professionally installed by a handyman and I bought the pole mount for the solar panel on the day of our installation appointment. Do remember to get the pole mount unless you plan to stake it in the ground. The pole mount can be used even to attach the solar panel to a wall. My plan was to get the pole mount for the day of the installation and return it if the handyman could do without it. He ending up needing it for a stable installation at about 20 feet height.
The light shines superbright and I am pleasantly surprised at the power of solar and LED lights.
Very happy with my purchase.
ProsHarness free solar power
Cons- Very expensive
- Light doesnt come on(even with remote ) unless it gets superdark outside. Light should be able to turn on when sun is setting (dusk) and not when it is night time.
Best UsesA great investment if you need outdoor lighting for a smaller area without having to worry about rain, electrical work, and runs free on solar energy.
